Council is seeking to appoint a Compliance Officer within Council’s Planning & Regulatory Services Department to provide administrative and clerical support to the Compliance Department, including, but not limited to, responding to customer enquiries, Planning and Building applications, and other duties as directed by the Planning and Regulatory Services Coordinator.

Administration and clerical support for Permit Authority functions as guided by the Building Act 2016 and under the direction of the Planning and Regulatory Services Coordinator is a key component of this position.

Other tasks include assistance with Environmental Health functions including, but not limited to, efficient water sampling, maintaining records for Environmental Health (such as Food Premises Licences, Street Dining Licences and Street Vendor Permits) and issuing of Abatement notices in accordance with the relevant sections of the Local Government Act 1993, By-laws and other relevant legislation and Council Policies.

The successful applicant must have a willingness to undertake relevant studies to support further advancement in this role.

The Compliance Officer will report to the Planning and Regulatory Services Coordinator and will be full time position Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm based at Council office Queenstown, however the applicant may need to work outside these days and hours, depending on requirements as flexibility is key to this role
