Covering 9574.5sq kms, the West Coast municipality is the gateway to Tasmania's wilderness. Coastal populations include Strahan, situated on Macquarie Harbour, and the picturesque shack sites of Granville Harbour and Trial Harbour. TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURE WEST COASTWest Coast Council advises that the following temporary closure of public streets will take place from Sunday 29th to Tuesday 31st January 2012 for the purpose of the Wildside MTB cycle challenge. Sunday 29th January 2012 Williamsford Road from Murchison Highway to Williamsford, from 1.00pm - 2.30pm.Dundas Road from the tailings pond track junction to the Murchison Highway from 2.00pm - 4.30pm. Monday 30th January 2012 Frederick Street from Main Street to Stops Street and Stops Street to Dodds Street, Zeehan from 8.45am - 11.00am. Spray Tunnel Road, Zeehan, from 8.00am - 11.30am. Trial Harbour Road, from 1.00pm - 1.30pm Tuesday 31st January 2012 Ocean Beach Road from the junction of the Macquarie Heads Road to the fish dump track from 9.45 - 10.15am.
