Town Maintenance
Council is responsible for the maintenance of five towns within the municipal area. The services provided include the provision of parks and reserves, maintenance of streets, management of cemeteries, provision of stormwater, street cleaning, sanitary services, street lighting, public toilet facilities and aerodromes.
Primarily, Council tries to maintain all township infrastructure, public open spaces and facilities to a satisfactory level at minimum lifestyle costs.

Roads
West Coast Council covers an area in excess of 9,000 sq km. Its population and industry are spread across the whole area, primarily developed around the five separate townships of Tullah, Rosebery, Zeehan, Strahan and Queenstown. There is a requirement for an efficient road network to meet the needs of residents. Council currently provides 175.92 km of road network, of which 82.56 kms is sealed and 93.36 kms remain unsealed. In addition, 34 vehicular bridges and 11-foot bridges serve the community.
