Food Licenses
All persons wishing to produce or sell food items are required to apply to Council's Environmental Health Officer for a Food Licence. Food premises and vehicles are regularly inspected and food samples are taken and analysed to ensure compliance with relevant food safety standards.
The FoodSafe Program is a Food Handler Training Program designed to help food businesses implement the food safety practices and general requirements of Food Safety Standard 3.2.2. It contains basic food hygiene knowledge which is suitable for induction training and also useful information to help businesses comply with the Standard. The package also shows a business how to implement the Program and contains template forms to use in monitoring practices.
Copies of the FoodSafe training package can be purchased by contacting West Coast Council.
