Parking & Airports
Council provides parking facilities in Strahan and Queenstown. Some parking facilities have parking meters installed to ensure that Council is compensated for the cost of the provision of adequate parking and to ensure our customers - both West Coast residents and tourists - are provided with consistent and equitable access to parking facilities.

Aims for 2008-2009
- To ensure that the facility provided is maintained in a satisfactory manner with additional attention given to the peak tourism season;
- To monitor and issue infringement notices for non-compliance with Councils parking requirements; and
- To collect fees for parking.
Strahan Airport
West Coast Council operates a registered airport at Strahan and an unregistered airport at Queenstown. Anyone wishing to land at Queenstown must contact Council prior to landing. Airport Landing Fees

Avturbo Aircraft - $17.50 per tonne MTOW with a minimum charge of $21.50

Avgas Aircraft - $11.50 per tonne MTOW with a minimum charge of $18.50

Annual Licence for Non-RPT aircraft - $656.00

Helicopter Landings - 50% of normal landing charge for other aircraft

Fuel storage area (weekly hire) - $40.00
