1. Field Officer

West Coast Council in conjunction with the West Coast Weed & Fire Management Group has an exciting opportunity for a Field Officer to join Councils team.

The position will be casual for a period of six months, with a view to continued employment dependent upon sustained project funding.  Qualification or experience in horticulture/environmental work desirable but not essential.

The successful applicant must be highly motivated with the ability to work independently, with a strong commitment to bush care.  Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Actively contribute to on ground, best practice weed control
  • Work safely & responsibly with herbicide
  • Spraying
  • Cut & paint weed control
  • Revegetation work
  • Fencing

The Interview

Interviews are usually conducted at the West Coast Council Quenestown Office, with the interview panel normally consisting of two people.  The interview will follow a standard line of questioning for all applicants.
