Street Dining By-Law No 1 of 2006

Council's Street Dining By-Law was published in the Tasmanian Government Gazette on 6 September 2006.

Businesses with outdoor dining are now required to obtain street dining licences.  Council will set fees per table (including GST) on an annual basis.  Current fees can be found by downloading Council's Fees and Charges. 

Infringements will be issued to those businesses conducting outdoor dining without a licence. 

Busineses intending to provide outdoor eating services will need to liaise with Council's in order to obtain a permit.  Please contact Council's Environmental Health Officer John Devlin on telephone (03) 64 714 700 or email jdevlin@westcoast.tas.gov.au for more information.

Parking By-Law No 2 of 2006

Council's Parking By-Law was published in the Tasmanian Government Gazette on 29 November 2006. 

The objectives of the by-law are to enable Council to provide for and control on street parking and to provide for and control off street parking in Council owned and controlled car parks within the West Coast municipality. 

Metered zones will be introduced in Strahan, with parking control to be enforced in all West Coast towns.  Infringements will be issued for offences that breach the Parking By-Law with legal action to be taken for non-payment of fines.
