Queenstown Landcare
A Landcare group is now up and running in Queenstown. The group's aims are to promote environmental awareness in the Queenstown community and improve the environment in which we live, work and play.
The group has received generous donations and grants from local businesses, Council and the Government and will initially focus on raising community awareness of land management issues, weed control, plant propagation and small revegetation projects, especially around the Schools and along the Queen River.
Longer term goals include improving walking tracks and strategic planning of fire control and vegetation management around Queenstown.
If you are interested in helping please come to a meeting or working bee. The group will meet on the first Monday of the month at 7pm at St Josephs School in Queenstown. Working bees are planned at the monthly meetings and occur on weekends.
