The Eric Thomas Galley Museum

Housed in the original Imperial Hotel, the museum has an extensive collection of West Coast photographs, memorabilia and minerals. Operated by volunteers, the museum is open daily and is also an accredited white i visitor information centre.

Queenstown Amateur Swimming Club

A volunteer-ran, community-focused club offering swimming and water safety programs and events for people aged five years and older. Club program runs December-March at the Queenstown Swimming Pool.  All programs are ran by qualified swim teachers.

Queenstown SES

Serves as a vital resource for emergency management and preparedness.

Country Women's Association, Strahan

A network of local women inspiring and supporting West Coast communities. Meeting at 1pm on the second Wednesday of the month at the Strahan Multi-Purpose Centre, Gaffney Street.

Mt Lyell Strahan Picnic

A traditional community, family-friendly event held annually on 26 January at West Strahan Beach.  Running for over 125 years expect laughter, connection and more.

Strahan Fire Brigade

New volunteers always welcome. Fire station is located at 18 Reid Street, with regular volunteer meetings and training.

Strahan Community Op-Shop

More than am Op Shop – the volunteer-run store provides support to residents and community groups, combating isolation and fostering connection, while also championing sustainability.

A picturesque country golf course.  Meals available on Friday’s and facilities for self-contained RV parking.
