Doing Business With Council

Doing business with the West Coast Council offers economic development benefits that extend beyond individual projects. Council fosters a supportive environment for investment, innovation, and sustainable growth.

Through strategic partnerships with industry and government, Council is helping to reverse regional decline by attracting new residents, diversifying the local economy and supporting the health and wellbeing of the community. This collaborative approach not only strengthens the economic resilience of the West Coast but also enhances long-term regional prosperity.

How can people do business with Council?

People can do business with the West Coast Council through several accessible pathways designed to support local enterprise and economic development. Here’s how:

Supplier & Contractor Opportunities

Council regularly seeks goods, services, and works from external providers across a range of areas.

Businesses can register as a supplier to be contacted when relevant opportunities arise.  This register is held internally with Council and updated annually.  If accepted onto this register you may be contacted directly to submit EOIs and/or quotes for specific works.

To be listed on this register, please complete and submit the application form below.

Business Information

Through our Growth & Change Department Council offers information including:

  • Business mentoring and advisory services
  • Notification on workshops, training, and networking events
  • Information on grants and funding opportunities

Please email our Growth & Change team for more information, and to be added to their regular information bulletin.

Expressions of Interest

Expression of Interest (EOI) documents are distributed direct to relevant contractors.

Tenders

All Tenders over $250,000 are advertised on Tenderlink.  Tenderlink is the online portal used by local government in Tasmania to advertise and manage the tendering process from advertising through to the contract award stage.

To view tenders and respond to tender advertisements contractors/suppliers must be registered.  Registration is free and can be completed via the Tenderlink button below.

In line with requirements in the Local Government Act 1993 and the Local Government (General) Regulations 2015, Council has a Procurement and Code of Tenders and Contracts Policy.  This policy provides guidance to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and to encourage best practice procurement.

Promotional and Community Engagement

Businesses can also partner with Council on community events or tourism initiatives or provide details of their services for inclusion in the Growth & Change information bulletin (where relevant).

Please email our Growth & Change team for more information, and to be added to their regular information bulletin.
