Western Regional Strategic Partnership

The West Coast Strategic Regional Partnership (WRSP) was formed after industry, community and Government came together and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in August 2023.

This partnership will see the groups represented by the MOU commit to amplifying the voices of West Coaster, working together to create a region that will attract workers and their families to the West Coast.

There is an unprecedented looming investment program totaling many billions of dollars, across multiple industry sectors, for the West Coast over the next decade.

These programs will all need workers and now is the time to combine plans and ensure the expenditure can leverage the benefits of being part of a suite of projects that will leave an enduring legacy of homes, facilities, improved social outcomes and a diversified economy to reverse the cycle of decline.

The WRSP will:

• Coordinate efforts across organisations
• Address key regional challenges
• Support long‑term growth and sustainability
• Make sure local communities benefit from major projects and investment

The WRSP will prioritise:

1. Housing & Accommodation: Making it easier for workers and families to live in the region.
2. Essential Services: Improving access to childcare, health, telecommunications, and emergency services.
3. Community Amenity: Enhancing local towns through better public spaces, recreation, and liveability.
4. Economic Diversification: Supporting new industries and opportunities beyond traditional sectors.
