In addition to visitor servicing, WCVIC staff support industry stakeholders such as West by North West (WxNW), Destination West Coast (DWC) and Tourism Tasmania through the provision of information and resources as required.
The WCVIC team have a real passion to help visitors experience the many attractions Tasmania has to offer. Famils are undertaken each year to help the team understand the attractions and accommodation advertised at the Centre, helping to provide visitors with the best possible advice in planning their Tasmanian experience.
Opportunities for businesses
The WCVIC team finds that properties and attractions that display their product within the Centre are selected by visitors at a significantly higher rate than those who do not – visibility to the hundreds of people through the door each day matters.
Businesses can take advantage of several advertising options available with the WCVIC, offering an ideal opportunity to have your business seen by a substantial number of potential customers.
A range of options are available to suit all business sizes – from DL brochure display to backlight wall displays and options in between. If you have an idea how you would like to advertise with us, please get in touch.
For those businesses who have bookable services (e.g. accommodation, tours), we can also help you increase bookings by taking bookings in the Centre, as we’re talking with visitors. Bookings can also be made via the award-winning West Coast Tas website.
West Coast-based businesses receive:
- A listing on the website www.westcoasttas.com, with people able to book your service online
- Listing on our regional map “A Guide to Getting Lost”
- Inclusion on the WCVIC email distribution list, receiving updates regarding tourism, industry events and emergency information
If selecting brochure display options, brochures will also be displayed, for not extra cost, at:
- the Galley Museum in Queenstown
- the West Coast Heritage Centre
Around 70,000 people come into the WCVIC each year – plus thousands of emails and visits to our website.
We help create itineraries to meet individual likes and budgets, and can make accommodation and activity bookings. Having your business on visual display helps visitors become aware of your offering and increases our likelihood of making a booking.
Plus, unlike other third-party booking platforms whose commissions go overseas, any advertising fee or commission you pay stays right here on the West Coast – helping the WCVIC operate and continue to market the West Coast as a top destination!
