Council, at a Special Meeting on February 5 endorsed the establishment of the Strahan Waterfront Community Working Group, to be chaired by Councillor Lindsay Newman.
Deputy Mayor Robert Butterfield will also join the group, alongside representatives from aquaculture, fishing, cruise, business and the local community.
The working group will meet for the first time this week, with a focus on resolving design and operational issues associated with the redevelopment.
A community information session will be held on Thursday 19 February, where further project updates will be shared.
