Waste Management
Council has the responsibility to manage waste on the West Coast. Additional waste management information can be found here.
Waste Transfer Stations
Transfer stations are located at various locations through out the West Coast. Access to Waste Transfer Stations is for light vehicles and trailers under 3.5 tonne. Commercial operators are required to contact Council for Landfill access on (03) 64714700. For your safety Council askes that the public follow all signage located at the Waste Transfer sites.

Waste Collection
Waste collection is conducted weekly. Place your green bins kerbside the night prior to ensure collection on the scheduled day. For a fee, replacement 140 litre or 240 litre replacement bins are available by contacting Council.

Recycling
Recycling is collected monthly. Place your yellow bins kerbside the night prior to ensure collection on the scheduled day. Recycling collection is currently not available at Trial Harbour and Granville Harbour. For a fee,replacement 240 litre bins are available by contacting Council.

Service Requests
Service Requests can be brought to Councils attention by the lodgement of Councils Service Request Form. Alternatively, the public can lodge a Service Request via email at wcc@westcoast.tas.gov.au or send your request via post to PO Box 63 Queenstown Tas 7467, or by calling Council's office on (03) 6471 4700 where Council staff are only to happy to help with the lodgment of your Service Request.
Dogs
Dog Registration
The West Coast Council requires all dogs over 6 months of age to be registered and microchipped. They must have their registration tag showing on them. Barking Dog Complaints
Barking dog complaints can be lodged with Council for a small fee. The Municipal Inspector will investigate the compliant and if the dog/s are found to be a nuisance the matter will be dealt with inline with the Dog Control Act 2000 and you will receive a full refund of the fee. Council Payments
Council payments can be processed in person at our Council office at 11 Sticht Street Queenstown or by phoning (03) 6471 4700 to speak to our Council staff. Council rates can also be paid via bank transfer using the below West Coast Council bank details. Please ensure that you quote the PID (Property ID Number) or the invoice number located on your bill as a reference for the payment transaction. Concession Remission
Council maybe able to provide you with a concession remission on your rates. Council must be able to view your concession card. Your concession card must reflect the same address of the property for which you are seeking a remission. The Concession Remission Form must be completed (front & back) noting that the application can only apply to one property and it must be the one you are currently residing in.
General Managers Roll
Entry to the General Managers Roll for future West Coast Council local government elections, can be obtained from the below TEC links. The prescribed form is required to be completed and returned to the General Manager at the West Coast Council Office for inclusion to the roll.
The forms apply if either:
a) you are not eligible for Tasmanian House of Assembly enrolment and you are a resident of the West Coast municipality; www.tec.tas.gov.au/Local_Government_Elections/assets/LG_General_Managers_Roll_Enrolment_Form_(non-resident).pdf; or

Council Meetings
Council Meetings are conducted monthly commencing at 5pm. Special meetings are held as required. Members of the public are encouraged to attend the meetings. Meeting details are advertised on the Council website and local media outlets. Council meeting agendas and minutes are available for viewing by the public on the Council website and via Council agencies.
