Mechanic
Working with the West Coast Council
We are the largest Council by land area in Tasmania, and you will be working with a team that represents and looks after a large and beautiful part of our State.
We are certainly not the largest Council in scale or budget, but we have an amazing record of achieving a lot.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Council’s current Enterprise Bargaining Agreement and relevant award for each position.

Council has a generous superannuation scheme, paying above the standard superannuation amount. Employees can also salary sacrifice into their superannuation account.
Council employees are recognised after 5 years of service and continued recognition at five yearly intervals.
Depending on your role Council employees have access to protective clothing, corporate uniforms, uniform allowance (conditions apply).

Comprehensive workplace health and safety policies and procedures are in place to ensure staff are not placed at risk while at work.
The majority of our team is located in Queenstown, however we have team members located across the region, including Strahan, Queenstown, Zeehan and Rosebery

When applying for a position, you must provide the following:

- A covering letter
- Address Key Selection Criteria if outlined in Position Description.
A short response with 1 to 3 paragraphs for each criterion is recommended. Applications that do not address the Selection Criteria when required may be eliminated from the recruitment process.
