Changes to Council Meetings

  • Public Notice
Published 7th April 2020
Due to Covid-19 and for the safety of Councillors, Staff and Community, Council may have to adjust how we conduct council meetings.
To keep our Councillors, staff and community safe, Council may need to change how we hold council meetings.
It is possible that meetings will be closed to the public or even conducted electronically. In these cases, we will ensure there is a way for the public to listen to our meetings on our website.
No matter the future of our Council meetings we encourage people to follow the State Governments Advice – Stay Home, Save Lives. Going forward, we encourage residents to submit your questions to the Council up to 7 days before the meeting date, via email to: ea@westcoast.tas.gov.au, in writing, or you can give them to a Councillor to raise on your behalf. This way you can keep asking questions, but take the recommended measures to keep the community safe from COVID-19.
You can stay engaged with us in a variety of ways that are currently available and will continue to be available to you. You can view the minutes and agendas of council meetings and Council information on our website, tune into the weekly Mayor on Air segment on 7xs (8:30am approx. every Friday) or follow us on social media.
Council is still operating behind closed doors so you can also ring, email or write to us as per normal, we would be happy to help!
