EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

TULLAH OVAL – REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

West Coast Council, in accordance with the West Coast Sport and Recreation Plan (medium-term guidance) is seeking proposals for the Tullah Oval. The Tullah Oval has been an important part of the community and an excellent sporting ground but is currently rarely utilised for sport and recreation. Therefore, Council is seeking to dispose of it through a license, lease, or sale.

Council is open to your ideas for the site and this EOI is an opportunity to put proposals forward for consideration. Council will not be funding additional capital works on the site or ongoing maintenance following transfer or licensing.

Information about the Tullah Oval

Approximate size of building: 530m2 (Transportable building in need of repair).

Approximate size of land: 3.3ha

The land is currently zoned Recreation.

The land is considered public land therefore any disposal will go through the appropriate process in accordance with the Local Government Act 1993. A telecommunications provider currently leases part of the site and has right of way access, any proposals will need to preserve this.

Information about the Process

This request will be open to 1 October 2021. At this time all proposals will be considered against the criteria of community benefit to Tullah, and to the West Coast. These will be provided to Council to identify a preferred proponent to enter further negotiations with. Any disposal of the land will be subject to the legal requirements of the Local Government Act.
