IMPORTANT TESTING UPDATE

Anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms should come forward and get tested. If in doubt, get a test.

If you have even mild flu symptoms arrange a Covid-19 test by speaking to your GP or calling the Public Health Hotline 1800 671 738.

As of 30th March, Council offices are closed to the general public. Although we are no longer doing face to face we can still assist you on phone, email, by post or if you drop a letter in our new post box outside the Queenstown office.

Online Council Meetings

All questions from the public should be submitted to the General Manager or a Councillor (to raise on your behalf) up to 7 days prior to the meeting. Those submitted after that time will be taken as questions without notice. A recording of the meeting will be available on our website in the days following the meeting.

West Coast Wins Big at the Tasmanian Tourism Awards

The 2019 Tas Toruism Awards have produced big wins for the West Coast with the best results for the region in a decade!

The West Coast has done extremely well at the 2019 Tasmanian Tourism Awards held last night, sweeping away the competition and bringing home five awards!

Tourism is an important and ever growing industry for our region and thanks to our local businesses and providers, we are able to offer a second to none experience for those visiting the West Coast! The Council congratulates all those who were recognised last night (list below) and all those who continue to pour their hearts and hard work into our beautiful piece of the world!

Gordon River Cruises - winner, Tour and Transport Operator Category
West Coast Wilderness Railway - winner, Tourism Attraction Category
The Unconformity - winner, Festivals and Events Category
Strahan ATV Adventures - winner, People's Choice Award
King River Rafting - bronze, Adventure Tourism Category
