It was pleasing to see many people from local businesses and the community attend the presentation held on Tuesday night to provide an update on the West Coast branding project. Consultants, For the People, enlightened guests on how the new branding will collectively shift our region’s future by highlighting the rugged landscapes and rich natural resources history through the unforgettable scenic features and people’s stories of living on the land.
As part of the branding project we will require some assistance from the community to develop a portfolio of west coast landscapes, people, activities and unique features. We will be holding a people and scenery photo shoot in the near future and we would like to hear from anyone who may be interested in participating. For more information, please email ecodev@westcoast.tas.gov.au
I would also like to invite the community to take part in our online waste management survey. We have conducted a study on the existing waste transfer station arrangements available in the region. It includes how well the current services work and how they may evolve or change in the future. We are looking to hear from a range of businesses and residents. For more information, or to take part in the community survey, please visit Council’s website at www.westcoast.tas.gov.au
Finally, I would like to make mention of the approved decision made at the recent Council meeting. Mt Lyall Strahan Picnic received financial and in-kind support to ensure continued success of the event. A positive outcome for a long-standing community event.
