West Coast Council today announced that the West Coast Visitor Information Centre in Strahan has received a TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence.

Now in its sixth year, the achievement celebrates hospitality businesses that have earned great traveller reviews on TripAdvisor over the past year. Certificate of Excellence recipients include accommodations, eateries and attractions located all over the world that have continually delivered a quality customer experience. 

“Congratulations must go to the dedicated staff at the Visitors Centre,” West Coast Mayor Phil Vickers said when announcing the accolade.  “The staff are committed to providing valuable information on attractions and activities available in all our West Coast communities.”

The Centre, managed by West Coast Council, sees over 75,000 people come through the doors annually and is a member of the Tasmanian Visitor Information Network. 

“The Centre provides a vital service for tourists and local business owners alike and provides employment for West Coasters,” Mayor Vickers said, with Centre staff also able to take bookings for West Coast businesses, as well as for others throughout Tasmania.

TripAdvisor is proud to play this integral role in helping travellers feel more confident in their booking decisions.”

The Certificate of Excellence accounts for the quality, quantity and currency of reviews submitted by travellers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.

The West Coast Visitor Information Centre is located on the Esplanade, Strahan and is open seven days a week.
