The Strahan Slipway is located at 10 The Esplanade, opposite the Strahan Post Office.
This project will see modifications made to the slipway to allow larger vessels to berth and undergo maintenance. Currently larger vessels are required to sail to other slipways in Tasmania for maintenance.
“Improving the slipway to accommodate larger vessels will significantly improve World Heritage Cruises. We will no longer need to take weeks out of our operating schedule to transport our vessel to Hobart for surveys or repairs, which currently incurs substantial costs. By keeping these funds here on the West Coast, we not only strengthen our local economy but also create opportunities for local businesses. This improvement will help sustain jobs in the area, and make our operations more efficient and cost effective. With reduced downtime and fewer delays, we can offer a more reliable schedule, positioning ourselves to meet growing demand and deliver a higher standard of service, which will help attract more tourists to the region.”
