From Monday 25 August access to the IGA in Zeehan will be via the Heemskirk Hotel as works will commence to upgrade infrastructure at the IGA entrance.
Works will include:
- replacement of existing failing kerb & driveway infrastructure
- upgrades to subsurface water management
- stormwater stormwater
The current infrastructure is not fit for purpose and is in overall very poor condition, caused from frequency of use and the age of the infrastructure and compounded by the permanent flow of acidic spring water in the area.
The project will include the recapture of this spring water into a piped stormwater system, which will ensure an improved new pavement and concrete lifespan.
There will be some traffic delays during the works and motorists should follow all traffic management signage in place to ensure everyone remains safe.
The project is expected to take up to five weeks to complete.
