A new FREE recycling hub has been set up in the reception area of the Council Office in Queenstown.
This gives people another opportunity to recycle items, in addition to the monthly wheelie bin recycling collection.
A great range of items can be dropped into this new hub, including:
- Oral care products and packaging – like toothpaste and toothbrushes
- Medication blister packs
- Pens and markers
- Mobile phones and accessories
- Razors and their packaging
- Small e-waste such as remote controls, a computer mouse, handheld cameras
People can call into the Council office Monday-Friday during opening hours to use the hub at no cost. It is hoped this will be the first of a few units to be set up in West Coast towns.
This Community Recycling Hub is another step forward as part of our focus on improving waste and recycling options and management.
