The upgraded Strahan Slipway is proving its value to the West Coast marine industry.
This week, the Harbour Master II, operated by World Heritage Cruises, successfully undertook a test lift on the modified No. 2 slip. The test was a major milestone for the slipway – and a resounding success.
The slipway performed exceptionally well, with no significant issues encountered during the operation. The smooth process demonstrated the effectiveness of the recent upgrades and the slipway’s readiness to support larger and more complex vessels.
Pleased with the test outcome, World Heritage Cruises have now booked the slipway for July 2026 to undertake further planned works.
The upgraded slipway now offers increased capacity and improved functionality, supporting a wider range of vessels and maintenance activities. Available services include:
- Vessel slipping and launching
- Hull inspections and maintenance
- Commercial vessel repair works
- Support for tourism, fishing, and marine operators
These improvements strengthen the marine services offered in, helping to keep vessel maintenance local and supporting regional jobs and industry.
Council is proud to see the Strahan Slipway delivering real results for operators and the wider community.
