West Coast Council knows that many in our communities are disadvantaged when it comes to access to transport.
Transport between our towns, and to other regions in Tasmania, is not always easy.
We understand that sometimes it can be difficult to find out what transport services exist – and if you’re eligible to use them.
As part of the West Coast Community Plan 2035, Council has committed to advocating for safe and reliable public transport that connects our local community to the region.
The first step towards this has been to learn about what transport services are offered, and to share this information with the community.
We have developed a “West Coast Transport Options” flyer to summarise existing services, and to encourage people to become volunteer drivers for applicable services.
Residents are encouraged to share this flyer and to use the transport services where possible.
