West Coast Interim Planning Scheme 2013
Interim Planning Schemes came into effect across the Cradle Coast region on 19 October 2013. A two-month period of public comment on the West Coast Interim Planning Scheme followed.
The period for public comment is now closed.Thank you to everyone who provided input. More than 80 submissions were received from across the region.
What's happening now? The nine Councils of the Cradle Coast region will prepare a report for the Tasmanian Planning Commission based on the submissions received.
Councils are coordinating a consistent response to submissions relating to regional matters, plus reporting on matters specific to West Coast. The Commission will consider the reports then hold a hearing to determine if the Interim Planning Schemes are in order. The hearing is anticipated to take place around May 2014.
After the hearing, the Commission may (1)certify the Schemes as final, (2) modify the draft planning schemes or (3) direct Council to redo a part of the Planning Scheme.
