As of 30th March, Council offices are closed to the general public. Although we are no longer doing face to face we can still assist you on phone, email, by post or if you drop a letter in our new post box outside the Queenstown office.

Events around Covid-19 are unfolding rapidly. Each day we will provide updates on where to access best government information around the pandemic, effects on Council services and community and information on economic support and operating local businesses. Private Water Supplies

The Public Health Act 1997 regulates the supply and use of private water and requires the users and suppliers of water obtained from a private water source are registered under the Act.

This means that private water carriers must register their operations with Council. For Food Premises outside of the Taswater system a registration as a Food Premises exempts the business from the requirement to be a registered private water supplier.

The Drinking Water Quality Guidelines provide advice on the management of water supplies and requirements for Commercial Water Carriers.
