Message from West Coast Council

As many of you will have read, it is with deep sadness that we confirm we recently lost a teammate in a workplace accident.

This is a tragedy for the family and friends who have lost a loved one and for the Council team who worked alongside him.

Councillors and Council staff extend their sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

A Condolence Book will be made available at the West Coast Council Office Queenstown and we invite you to leave a message for family and friends if you wish to do so. We will advise when we have this in place.

We also know that many in the community may need some extra help at this time to process this loss and grief. We have contacted local support services, and the following are available to support you:

  • Family Based Care – Located in Rosebery – Referrals to Counsellors or Psychologists can be made through contacting Intake@familybasedcare.org.au or their website www.mypsychology.org.au with the reference West Coast Council – we know they have some face to face appointments in Rosebery on the 28th November.
  • Rural Health Tas – Mental Health Clinician on the West Coast every Wednesday. Please call Brent 0447 421 684 or Jo 0447 677 514, this is a free service.

Council staff would like to thank the community for their support at this very difficult time.
