Iwanicki, Vikki

Vikki has spent most of her working life in social justice roles for non-profits, educational organisations and government where she focused on securing equitable outcomes for marginalised communities.  Having previously worked as Council’s Community Development Officer, the Community Learning Officer for the University of Tasmania (based at the Study Hub in Zeehan) and now as the Centre Leader of the Queenstown Child and Family Learning Centre, Vikki is very familiar with the region’s evolving needs particularly as they relate to women, children and families. She has previously served almost 5 years on Council’s Education and Training Committee, and has mentored local high school students as they take their first steps into the world of work and study.  In her role with the University of Tasmania, Vikki received the prestigious Vice-Chancellor’s Engagement Award in recognition of her work advocating for and working alongside the West Coast community towards improved educational opportunities.

As a Councillor, Vikki represents all of the residents of the West Coast and believes that community engagement and collaboration are key to ensuring progress.  You will find Vikki at many public events where she seeks to better understand the needs of residents.

Vikki lives in Queenstown with her husband and enjoys West Coast walks, events, markets and exhibitions.  She is a keen supporter and collector of West Coast art and likes to cook and bake as much as her schedule will allow.
